About Five Saints Distillery
Five Saints Distillery is a microbrewery, bar, and distillery located just blocks from the Schuylkill River in the heart of historic Norristown, PA. Built in 1888, their building originally housed Humane Fire Engine Co. #1. Five Saints Distillery has done a great job retaining the character of this historic structure, and regularly gives tours of the firehouse and their distillery operations.
Condition of the Roof
John contacted CityScapes Commercial Roofing because the existing metal roof was showing signs of wear and was leaking into their distillery operation.
On our initial inspection of the historic building’s roof, we found a metal roof with several layers of coatings. Because of the relatively good condition of the metal roof, we recommended a metal restoration system that would provide a waterproof coating.
Finished Results
Our first step was to remove the prior metal coatings, which we were able to do with a pressure washer. Then we cleaned and primed the metal roof, caulked the seams, and applied our waterproof polyurethane topcoat across the entire roof.
This roof is now totally leak-free. Due to the white coating, the roof will not retain heat like before, which should cut down on the distillery’s energy costs. This roof is now ready to continue the fire station’s proud history for decades to come.
